Do you know how much Jesus talked and preached about Kingdom? Well I don’t have any exact statistics, but it was a lot. I would dare to say most of the time His message was about the Kingdom.
He didn’t go around condemning people about there sin or pointing the finger at them and telling them how bad they are. He simply came to tell of the Kingdom. Some Examples:
From that time Jesus began to preach, crying out, Repent ( change your mind for the better, heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:23
And He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (Gospel) of thekingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people. Matthew 6:33
But seek ( aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness ( His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
This is only 3 verses from Matthew, there are lots more. Clearly this is something important.
Something I know so far is that the Kingdom of God is not some place and time in the Future, after you die, where you go. God said: Genesis 1:26 “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
We were made to rule! God made us in His image, and likeness, to Rule on earth. Essentially then we are God’s ambassadors. We represent His Kingdom here on earth! So we are not here on earth to just live out a life, and maybe end up in Gods Kingdom one day. We are here to Rule and represent and live in Gods Kingdom right now!
I read a really good book about Kingdom principles by Myles Munro. Rediscovering the Kingdom. It really explains things so clearly and has given me a greater understanding of how a Kingdom works, and therefore a greater understanding of my place in God’s Kingdom. If you can try get it and read it!
I’m not coming to some final conclusion here, and I will continue writing about it and discovering it, but just know this the Kingdom of God is here and now!
